Mommy roleplay: nursery diaper cleanup

After coloring bright pictures together and reading silly storybooks on the nursery rug, I knew it was time for his favorite part of the day: tubby playtime! First I changed him out of his thick, crinkly daytime diaper, the one covered in cheerful little lion prints that puffed up so adorably with every wiggle. I swapped it for a quick clean up, then slipped his favorite blue binkie, the one with the tiny star pattern between his lips so he could suckle sweetly while I got everything ready.
I ran a warm, bubbly bath and sprinkled in his special tub toys: squeaky yellow rubber duckies that bobbed like happy friends, colorful floating fish that squirted water when he squeezed them, and bright stacking cups perfect for splashing towers. His soft, snap crotch pastel onesie lay folded nearby, waiting for later, over his choice of diapers, of course. We have so many! Ultra absorbent nighttime ones for cozy sleeps, discreet daytime pull ups when we go out, and these fun printed ones just for play, even though he wasn’t wearing one in the tub now.
Gently I lifted my naked giggling baby boy into the tub. “Splash time, my little one!” I cooed. His eyes lit up as the warm water hugged him. He clapped and chased the duckies, poured water from the cups and threw them around a bit, and made the fish zoom around while his binkie bobbed happily. I knelt beside the tub, helping him build bubbly castles and cheering every splash. Watching him so carefree and joyful melts my heart every single time, he really loves his tubby time.
