It sits in the corner. It is pink, made of plastic. It has cute Abdl nursery print stickers on it, and a name stenciled on the front, so everyone knows whose it is. It was placed there on purpose – a visual reminder always to the person who slept there.  Inside, until it is emptied, it is filled with another type of symbol. One that, when used, is a visual and Abdl audio reminder as well as one that includes the senses of touch and smell. Usually, a silicone accessory is used to involve the sense of taste as well.  Over time, the room has gained other reminders. A pink gingham bag containing many items matching a new status. Containers of a certain type for drinks. Recently a threat was made that the bed would soon have bars unless changes are made.  Now you have the idea. The room is a bedroom for a diaper-punished husband, who has been banned from his wife’s bed. Instead, he sleeps on a plastic-covered bed, that may soon become a crib, in a room where his diaper bag is kept, as well as baby bottles and a pacifier are used.
